ABOUT me

Ivy Augusta.JPG

I grew up in Southern California, a real-life "valley girl" from the outskirts of the San Fernando Valley. My family and I now call Oregon home, with frequent trips to California and beyond.

I am a seasoned world traveler, certified deep diver, and accomplished equestrian. I've jumped out of perfectly good airplanes and gone swimming with sharks. I've crossed the Serengeti, backpacked across the Australian Outback, and scaled Mayan Temples. I've pulled lobsters from the waters of Belize, survived a monsoon in the South China Seas, and gone night diving on the Great Barrier Reef.

Motherhood has been one of my greatest accomplishments - and biggest challenges - to date. I am an avid snowboarder, excellent campfire builder, appreciator of craft whiskey, and your favorite rhythm guitarist.

What's In A Name?

People often ask me how to be addressed.  Call me Julia or Ivy.

THE STORY OF IVY AUGUSTA

Ivy Augusta is my legal middle name.  I began using Ivy Augusta as an alias and handle working in the creative industry, and later formed Ivy Augusta LLC to conduct my business as an independent contractor.

I was adopted at birth and named Julia Henry, with no middle name.  My parents always told me I was adopted and that I could choose my own middle name when the time was right.

At the age of eighteen I met my birth mother, the inimitable, amazing, unparalleled: Rosey Reed.  The first time we met, she told me that the name she chose for me at birth was Ivy Augusta.  At that moment, I knew that I had found my middle name, along with my origin story.

Rosey and I grew close, but she passed away unexpectedly nearly 10 years to the day after we met.  Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her.  Names are powerful and I am grateful to have such a deep connection to all of mine.
